Bonded Logistics Zone

保税物流园区

Bonded Logistics Zone (保税物流园区) refers to the special customs supervision area approved by the State Council to develop modern international logistics. The main function of Bonded Logistics Zone is to store goods. China has established bonded logistics zones since 2003. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone was established in December 2003 and is the first bonded logistics zone in China. In 2004, Tianjin Bonded Logistics Zone, along with the other 6 zones were approved. In 2007, another new one was added to the list. However, in August 2020, with the approval of the State Council, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone was integrated into Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which means that all bonded logistics zones in China had been integrated into comprehensive bonded zones by that time.
